Derrick 3D Davis, CIT, EST
Founder/CEO
Derrick D. Davis is a U.S. Navy veteran and seasoned broadcast engineer with over 30 years of experience in audio/video technology and electronic systems. During his career Derrick served as the Transmitter Maintenance Supervisor at CBS Detroit TV-62 the morning show engineer for WXYZ Ch 7.
Throughout his career, Derrick has held roles in major productions, including serving as a Video Operator at the 2012 MLB World Series, and led successful studio upgrades like the $500K renovation at TV Warren. He founded Suite 160 Digital Studios and, in 2016, launched AV Technology Institute an AV career training center preparing students for trade careers as electronic system integrators.
Derrick studied Electronic Engineering Technology at the New England Institute of Technology and holds multiple certifications, including CEDIA-ESC, ESPA-EST, and radio/TV production from the Nashville School of Broadcasting.
A passionate youth mentor, Derrick actively works with EMIY Inc. (Encourage Me I’m Young), a Detroit-based nonprofit focused on empowering young men and building future leaders. He's also sits on the Board of Directors Of (GFO) Good Father's Only.
Derrick is also the host and creator of The ToolBox Chronicles.
